He graduated with Honors from the University of Liverpool Law School in England
and Columbia University School of Law in New York.
During the course of Alex’s legal career in the United States, England and Israel,
he has handled complex business immigration, family reunification and deportation cases.
Alex represents numerous large and small companies as well as private individuals in their immigration matters.
Alex also has extensive immigration experience in litigating deportation cases and has appeared in various
Immigration Courts on behalf of his clients.
In
addition, Alex Berd was Legal Counsel for the international technology and
engineering company, the Baran
Group, which was publicly traded on both the NASDAQ and TASE. At Baran, Alex focused
on legal issues pertaining to SEC reporting requirements and business
immigration matters. He worked in the Israeli Prime Minister’s Legal Department, where he advised
the Prime Minister’s office on commercial, constitutional, and national
security issues. Prior to that, he was an Associate Attorney at several major
international law firms in Haifa, Israel and in Liverpool, England.
Alex
is an active member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA) and its
New York Chapter. He also serves on the Board of Directors of Shorefront YM-YWHA of Brighton-Manhattan
Beach, Inc.
He is fluent in Russian, Hebrew and Ukrainian.

Patrick Klauss, Esq. received his Bachelors degree from Trinity College in Hartford,
Connecticut where he majored in Public Policy. He studied at the University of Maastricht in
the Netherlands where he focused on European Policy and Arts & Culture. Mr.
Klauss obtained his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School.
Patrick has extensive experience in a wide range of Immigration
Law areas including family and employment based issues on both individual and
corporate levels, and handles H-1B non-immigrant worker visas, O-1 visas for
aliens of extraordinary ability, Labor Certification under PERM, E-1 and E-2
treaty and investor visas, multinational corporation transferee working visas
(L-1), and all categories of I-140 Immigration Petitions. Mr. Klauss has also
been involved with numerous aspects of criminal deportation issues, citizenship
and naturalization, and administrative appeals to the Administrative
Appeals Office (AAO) and the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA). Patrick regularly
participates in numerous panels and presentations on recent immigration legal
developments and issues.
In addition to his immigration experience, Patrick worked as a
clerk at the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division First Department
conducting research and drafting bench memos on various appellate issues. He
also worked as a legal consultant at Bear
Stearns in New York and in Audi A.G.’s legal department in Ingolstadt, Germany.
He is proficient in both German and Italian.
